The Best High-Protein Cheese for Snacking

If you’re doing intermittent fasting or just trying to get more protein in with fewer meals, snacking can be a challenge. I still don’t recommend snacking in general, but if you absolutely have to, here’s a great option: Parmesan cheese.

Parmesan has the highest protein content of all cheeses, coming in at around 35 to 38 grams of protein per 100 grams. It’s a simple and effective way to boost your protein intake.

You might assume all cheeses are high in protein, but that’s not the case. Feta, for example, has only about 15 grams per 100 grams, and halloumi has even less at around 12 grams. So if you’re aiming to maximise your protein, Parmesan is the clear winner.

It’s also incredibly easy to snack on. Just cut off a piece and enjoy it as is, or grate it over your vegetables to give them that rich, savoury taste.
